The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority hosted the 19th edition of ‘Forum Des Pionniers’, making it the first edition to be held in the Gulf region. The Kingdom of Bahrain was selected by ESCAET to host the prestigious event held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre between the 12th and 16th May 2018.

The event brings together professionals from the tourism industry to exchange expertise and skills, as well as highlight the various commercial and tourism investment opportunities while showcasing various destinations and its touristic offering.

During the forum, more than 120 French tour operators including travel agents, airline and hotel representatives, will participate in workshops and meetings to discuss issues specifically related to the tourism in France. The forum also provides tour operators with the opportunity to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain’s latest touristic attractions on their websites and brochures.

“We are proud that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been selected to host the ‘Forum Des Pionniers’, which was also previously held in Cyprus, Portugal and Morocco. Hosting the forum comes in line with the BTEA’s strategy which aims to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain as an ideal destination for hosting meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE),” said the Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, H.E. Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.

“We have also recently been featured in Strategos magazine. The publication is distributed to more than 4000 travel professionals. They have featured BTEA, Gulf Air and Novotel Bahrain Al Dana Resort,” he added.

The forum is the ideal platform to meet tourism business partners and learn about the influence of technology and sector evolution in order to prepare and build the future of the tourism industry. In addition, the forum opens up new opportunities for regional and global businesses to enhance experience sharing, seek investment opportunities and boost cooperation.
Hosting the forum comes in line with the BTEA’s long term strategy to further develop the Kingdom’s tourism sector and strengthen its position on a regional and international level under the slogan of ‘Ours.Yours.’, which contributes towards the Kingdom’s economy and the 2030 Economic Vision.
